This
was the second outing of the year, this one
to Portsmouth to go up the Spinnaker tower and
to look around the local area. We arrived at Portsmouth around
11.30 and gasping for a cup of coffee made
our way to the cafe's, but by the time
we found one it was lunch time, so we
had a bite to eat as well, and then it was
up the tower for 20 minutes to look at the
fantastic view it offers. The tower stands
170m and was built with a lottery grant.
After the tower we made our way to the boats
for a tour of the naval docks, whilst others
enjoyed the local shops or sat on the
seafront watching the world go by.
As it was free to go into the dock yard to
see HMS Victory and
the maritime museum, Karen and I trotted off for a look, which took us
right up to 3.20pm
when we headed back to the coach park, where
we found the others all licking their ice
creams, lovely.
A good day indeed, many thanks to the
organisers.
