Boat trip
I do love boats, all sorts, we even had a small cruiser once many
many years ago when I was a skinny lad, where did it all go wrong, anyway this
boat trip was on a specially adapted boat that took us on a gentle cruise
along the Gloucester to Sharpness canal. Barbara bought some sandwiches on route and so we
all had lunch on
board, it was a super trip and all run by a group of volunteers who take all sorts of groups up and down the
canal for pleasure. I even had a go of steering the boat, the only time it went straight as I recall, ho hum, also saw a bit of wildlife along the route, heron, swans, and a glimpse of a water vole.
I think we were all surprised to see Uncle Albert from the TV series “only fools and horse” especially as Buster
Merryfield the actor who played him died in real life back in 1999, still it was a good look alike, and made us smile, his boat was called “LUVLY JUBBLY” from Peckham.
A great day indeed.
