A new venue for this years regional Dinner,
Chichester Park Hotel, in Chichester and we were
pleased to welcome members some travelling over 100 miles
to be there others included a group from
Northwest Kent, Berkshire, Dorset and
Southampton, including our special guests Barry
North and David and Amanda Leeks.
The dinner was very well supported, with 99 people in
attendants. The Worthing branch took a few fund
raising stalls with included Barbara’s cards and
crafts, all hand made by members of the Worthing
branch and of course a super raffle.
The meal was a prawn cocktail starter followed by Roast
Lambs with all the trimmings and again during
the meal we all had a super table quiz set by Barbara
and
won by Martin Tidy. The sweet was profiteroles with
chocolate sauce, Hmm lovely, followed by a nice cup of coffee.
Afternoon entertainment was courtesy of the
Arun Sounds Ladies Barber shop harmony chorus who gave up their time
to perform for us and sung a few well known
tunes from the stage shows and were very well
received indeed.
Bob Stephens
gave a short welcome speech that was followed by
David Leeks – Chairman of Berkshire Branch “My
Year as Mayor of Basingstoke” and then Barry
North reminded us of some of the history of the
Fellowship.
Terry & Gaynor again exceeded their expectations
by taking £301,00 on the raffle, brilliant. We
all departed happy in the knowledge that we had
avoided the traffic from the Goodwood Revival
being held just up the road.
