This
was the very last dinner at the Beach Hotel in Worthing,
as it closed two days after and we were the very last
customers.
The Beach has
hosted our regional dinner for many years and has always
served us well with warm and friendly staff, good food
and super views over Worthing seafront plus the sun
always shines!
Branches from all
over the region joined us for this special occasion, 108
members altogether and all were served a super Avocado
and prawn starter, followed by a lovely lamb shank main
course with all the trimmings and an excellent dessert
of Raspberry cream roulade.
After dinner there
were a few speeches, one from Bob Stephens the Regional
Chairman who welcomed the 108 members of the south of
England region, then our national chairman Pam Jones
said a few words about the fellowship and the trustees
involvement, Barry North who spoke
about a book he is writing on the Worthing Branch and the Lantern Hotel and finally National Treasurer Aiden
Lynton Smith who thanked Barbara and all her helpers for
arranging the lunch.
