The Beach Hotel in Worthing
was the venue for the South of England Regions BPFs 70th anniversary dinner.
Branches from all over the region joined us for this special occasion, 137 people in total
came, and all were served a lovely lamb dinner with all the
trimmings followed by my favourite, profiteroles with lots of
chocolate sauce, so that was nice.
After
dinner there were a few speeches one from Bob Stephens,
chairman, who welcomed the 137 members of the south of England
region and in his speech gave a glowing tribute to our
retiring chief executive Graham Ball suggesting that under
his leadership the service offered to our members had
improved more than at any other time over the last 30 years,
and we were extremely sorry to lose him.
Then a few words from our guest Aiden
our national treasurer about the fellowship finances and a
short talk from Barry North a polio member from Brighton about the history of the
fellowship and the branch network and he had bought a number
of photographs for us to look at, that was followed by the answers to another of Barbara's clever
quizzes that she had set earlier, then the hat competition and finally the grand raffle.
Below are a few pictures of the event. |
