Obituary: Edward Upton
Edward
Upton
Our
members were shocked and saddened by the sudden
death of our good friend and recent treasurer
Edward Upton.
Edward and
his wife Joan were returning home from visiting
his daughters new house on Sunday the 8th
of July 2012 when they were involved in a head
on collision on the A24 just north of Horsham,
Edward died and Joan is still in hospital
recovering from her injuries.
Edward had
been an active supporter of our branch before he
recently had a house built in Cyprus to live in
during the winter months to ease his breathing
difficulties in our English climate.
He had a
great interest in racing cars, annually visiting
Le mans and was especially attracted to the
classic car scene.
The
fellowship will miss him and we send our
most sincere condolences to Joan and their
family.
Edwards funeral will be held at the Worthing
crematorium at 3pm on Monday the 30th
July 2012.
Peter
Saywell (of Saywell industries Worthing) brother
in law) in memory of Edward is planning to
dedicate the profits from a classic car day at
Goodwood Motor Circuit on the 8th
September to our branch.
