July 16th 2014 Three River Cruise

What a super day, the sun was shining the temperature was perfect, just right for the three river cruise.

We arrived in good time; and ate our picnic lunches then boarded the Ocean Scene without problems, found our seats and readied ourselves for a super cruise.

First we left Ocean Village, turned right into the River Itchen towards Southampton water and on the way the captain pointed out places of interest and soon we reached Southampton water, unfortunately there weren’t any huge boats or liners in port, but very interesting nevertheless, there were a number of cargo boats going past, off to far flung places no doubt, but the large cruise ships had left port a few days earlier for their voyages.

Half way across Southampton water afternoon cream tea was served, very naughty, but very nice and we ate this eagerly as the boat weaved through dozens of moored boats along the river Hamble and we could see many very expensive homes along the shoreline. A mile or so up we turned around and returned and then cruised up the river Test for a few miles before making a u-turn for the return to Ocean Village.

We ventured upstairs for the return journey to take in the air, and stayed there until we moored up at Ocean Village, a great little cruise indeed, a big thanks for all those involve in the organisation, we all enjoyed it.
